Top 10 Race to Regionals
Ten of our pupils recently qualified for the Somerset County Cross-Country Championships at Aldon Hill, Yeovil – a course that is deemed by many to be the toughest in the region.
The runners taking part gave a very good account of themselves. The following children all finished within the top 10 of their respective year groups, and have qualified to represent Somerset at the South West Cross-Country Championships in Bournemouth on Saturday 8th February: in the Minor Boys (Year 7) Charlie S claimed first place, while in the Minor Girls (Year 7), Katie R was second, Kendra D third and Darcie C was placed sixth. In the Junior Boys (Years 8 and 9) Cameron W was placed tenth.
In addition, Alex M, Henry E and Eve R finished just outside the top 10, and have been named as reserves for the regionals, while Monique D T and Ruby B also did brilliantly.
Commenting, Ali Halls said: "All of our runners should be extremely proud of their performances and of how well they did. Well done to them and good luck for the South-Wests next month."
