Woof, woof my friends,
Before I could begin writing my diary this week I needed to look up the collective noun for a group of teachers. Did you know that it is a ‘faculty’ of teachers or a ‘professoriate’? However, I have a sneaky feeling that the children may have a few urban alternatives!
As you know, I’m a very active pup, although I did confess in my post-Christmas diary to being a bit of a couch potato at times, especially during the holidays. Well, I have composed a list of film and TV series that I would like to watch in the February half term break if the weather is inclement...
My ideas came from ear wigging a faculty of teachers who were talking about their childhood favourites. Mrs Masters mentioned Lassie, Matron enjoyed watching Hector’s House, Mrs Thomas loved the film The Incredible Journey, and Mr Watson was raving about a Canadian series called The Littlest Hobo. Having lived in Australia as a child, he was also a fan of Skippy the Bush Kangaroo and Flipper. With the exception of the last two, the others all have dogs as the leading role. You know how much I enjoy acting, so I’m hoping to be inspired by these canine ‘greats’.
Good luck to all my friends who are sitting their mock Common Entrance exams next week. I know how hard you’ve all been working as I have had the privilege of supervising the evening revision sessions!
