As part of their outdoor learning and geography curriculum, pupils in Year 3 have been looking at maps and how they represent what is on the ground.

To gain some hands-on experience, the children have been taking part in an orienteering course, which has helped them to build on their map reading, teamwork, and decision-making skills. In a recent session, parents were invited to help them navigate the star-shaped course.

Year 3 class teacher, Jenny Hayden-Briffett, said: “We have found that it is not only a fun activity, but also a way for the children to work in collaboration to achieve an end. The course itself is challenging, but also rewarding and a good way to keep fit. Overall, it was a successful event, enjoyed by pupils and parents alike."
