With BBC Children in Need on the horizon, our Pupil Council ensured this received top billing on the agenda at their latest council meeting.

As well as initiating funds to be raised by donating to wear casual clothes at school next Friday, the pupils recognise that reaching out to our local community during lockdown is very important and that we can make a difference with something simple like writing a letter.

After much discussion, it was decided that local nursing homes in the Taunton area, including one just down the road, would receive letters and pictures from pupils.

An informational poster was designed and a letter writing checklist devised and handed to all PC reps to place in their tutor rooms.

Concluding the meeting was the election of a new chair. After the formalities of speeches and voting, Thomas S was elected as the new Pupil Council Chairman for 2020-2021. Congratulations Thomas, and a huge well done to all reps for your philanthropy and general thoughtfulness ahead of the second lockdown and next week's nationwide Children in Need event.
