There really is nothing better that a bit of sea air to blow away the cobwebs! Admittedly, not quite the Australian beaches that our GAP students are used to, but Minehead's sprawling seaside certainly delivered. Suited and booted, we splashed about in the waves, played cricket and football, and built sandcastles - all within the company of our new friends.
Rather surprisingly, the weather was so nice that we were even able to enjoy a delicious picnic on the beach. A picnic?! In January?! We couldn't believe it either, but that didn't stop our boarders tucking into their sandy sandwiches and a warming cup of hot chocolate. After our picnic, we rounded off the day with a stroll along the seafront, which naturally brought us to an ice-cream shop, where we all indulged in a little sweet treat before the journey home.
