New PBs for Athletics Star Grace
Earlier this month, Year 8 pupil Grace Fielder competed in the Burnham-on-Sea (BOS) Swim and Sports Academy’s annual Biathlon. This popular event regularly attracts almost 200 entries and comprises of a 100m run followed by a swim over the same distance.
The King’s Hall pupil ran in a mixed heat (Years 7-9) that included competitors who had represented GB in various competitions. It was a four lap race, which the 13-year-old won.
In the 100m swim, Grace achieved another fantastic ranking, second, with a time of 1 minute 12.05 seconds. After a short wait, the presentations were conducted and Grace was delighted to find that she had not only won the girls’ competition, but was also the highest scorer on the day, with a national standard score of 2216 points.
The BOS Biathlon was great preparation for the British Schools Biathlon Championships, which Grace will compete in later this month.
