King’s Hall School have celebrated another successful year at the Taunton Festival of the Arts, with all entrants receiving fantastic results and feedback from the jury.
Twenty-two children took part in solo/small group classes, with a further 30 involved in choirs. In the build up to the event, Taunton Children’s Orchestra also enjoyed weekly rehearsals at the school.
King’s Hall children gained a show-stopping twelve first places, five second places and one third, as well as receiving uniformly high mark across the board: of the 70 or so entrants, 23 were awarded distinctions, with a further 38 securing commended.
The Taunton Children’s Orchestra, of which seven King’s Hall pupils are members, received a distinction and secured the Talbot Cup.
In the 12 and Under Choir category, Miss Tustian’s lunchtime Rainforest Choir placed third with a commended mark, and the Senior Choir came first with a distinction, as well as receiving the Priscilla Hodgson Shield.
Overall, a tremendous fortnight of music, of which all participants should be justifiably proud of their achievements. Huge congratulations to the following pupils for their individual success:
