King's Schools Jump Their Way to Success
The King’s Schools team recently jumped their way to success in a number of classes at both the Just for Schools National Winter Championship at the David Broome Event Centre, and the NSEA Showjumping Qualifiers at nearby Pontispool Equine Sports Centre.
Our two younger riders from King's Hall – Tilly Fuller and Danielle Page, both in Year 7 – along with Jaime Page (Year 9) and Georgia Hilton (Sixth Form) from King’s College all performed brilliantly and thoroughly deserved what they achieved, both individually and collectively.
The girls all had a very successful weekend with Tilly, Danielle and Jaime winning the 70cm league and Danielle being placed third individually.
In the 70cm event the girls were also placed first, with Jaime being placed third individually, and in the 80cm league. Georgia Hilton also joined the team and again they were placed first.
In the 90cm league, Georgia represented King’s as an individual and was placed sixth, while in the 90cm and 1m championship, Georgia was placed second individually in both classes.
The following weekend, the girls continued their lucky streak, alongside other team riders from King's Schools, with a set of fantastic results at the NSEA Showjumping competition.
In the 70cm, Jaime finished first, qualifying for Addington as an individual, Danielle placed second, also qualifying as an individual, and the King's Schools team placed first, again qualifying for championships later in the year.
Meanwhile, in the 80cm league, Danielle finished fourth and qualified for Keysoe as an individual, while the team placed 3rd overall, also qualifying.
Some of our senior riders, Lizzie Chetwode, Matti Mercer, Lara Chapple and Lucy Buckley, all jumped beautifully to earn clear rounds in the 100cm class, finishing second as a team, also qualifying for Addington.
We wish them luck for the rest of the season!
