King's Hall Shortlisted for Healthy Eating Award
We're delighted to announce we have been shortlisted once again for an Independent Schools of the Year Award (ISOTY), in the Healthy Eating category. Brought to you by Independent School Parent, Independent Schools of the Year 2020 is an awards programme designed to offer UK independent schools a platform to showcase their success stories and celebrate the student experiences they provide. The 21 awards categories have been designed to reflect the breadth and diversity of life in independent schools in the 21st century and to acknowledge their contribution to wider society.
Good food is the foundation of happiness, and nobody knows this better than our pupils. Health, wellbeing and satisfaction lies at the heart of our catering operations, which we feel contributes to the real family atmosphere of our school.
Our submission detailed the healthy eating and healthy lifestyle initiatives we have engaged in: from wonky veg, to the nationwide WasteLESS week, through to the development of a state of the art cookery facility for the pupils to enjoy, and the King's Loop run and online sports videos from our dedicated and energetic Director of Sport, Ali Halls, who was keen to maintain motivation and morale during the lockdown period..
We look forward to hearing the results, and thank our hardworking and creative staff, who have all played a part in the school being shortlisted for the award.
