Well Happy New Year to you, my dear friends. I hope you are all feeling rested after the festive break.
I have to admit to spending a fair amount of it just chilling on the sofa. It’s been a cosy, yet muddy holiday. I have come to realise that humans, only having fur on the tops of your heads, is a great and beneficial result of the evolutionary process. I, on the other hand, a handsome canine covered in blonde, curly locks, has had to bathe every single day of the holidays. I can sometimes get away with a quick paw wash but, oh my goodness, the muddy fields over the last few weeks have resulted in one very mucky pup.
Anyway, there comes a time when lounging on the sofa, taking afternoon naps, and stealing the odd unattended mince pie loses its appeal. Happily that coincided with the return of my boarding friends. It’s back to evening duties and making sure that everyone who needs a cuddle has received one. Even though my adults take extremely good care of me, they are not as boisterous, mischievous or playful as their younger counterparts!
I have a feeling that we’re in for a fun term, but remember friends: work hard, play hard!
