Come rain or shine, whether it's Woodland Adventures, Pelican Explorers or #ForestSchool sessions, our 'Little Wood… - a week ago

The girls at King’s Hall have been enjoying playing rugby since the new year. A request came to Ali Halls, our Director of Sport, from a group of girls all keen to play the sport.

Delighted, he set about creating a framework and every Saturday morning, the group come together to train, come rain or shine.

For the first hour, the girls are guided through a strength and conditioning session using our new gym equipment. After a break, and a chat over juice and energy replenishing snacks, the group then head outside to test their skills on the pitch.

Commenting, Ali said: “The girls were so keen to start playing this (new to them) sport, all looking to get physical, and muddy! We started off teaching them how to tackle and fall properly and safely, and each session works through a different skill, giving them plenty of time to practice and repeat”.

He added: “They’ve shown real determination to learn and develop their skills and I thoroughly enjoy seeing their muddy faces, grinning from ear to ear as they tackle and get stuck in!”
