Pelican Explorers is overseen by Mrs Claire Luckhurst. Claire is the Head of Pre-Prep at King's Hall School and has over 20 years of experience in the early years sector. Each activity is run by fully qualified, specialist teachers/coaches.
The Pelican Explorers programme is primarily aimed at children aged 3-4, allowing pre-school pupils the opportunity to socialise and learn through child-initiated play. However, we do have children as young as 18 months join the sessions if they are sturdy on their feet!
Pelican Explorers will take place this term, w/c 21 september 2020 and will conclude on Wednesday 9 December 2020. There will be a break from 13-19 November to coincide with half term. Pelican Pioneers will take place in our Forest School areas.
After completing our enquiry form, you will receive an email from Claire Luckhurst confirming your place on your activities. You will also receive details on how to pay for your membership and classes. We are only able to accept payment by cheque or BACS.
To become part of the Explorers family, there will be a £20 joining fee. This will cover the cost of your child's welcome pack (which includes a bag, t-shirt and branded goodies), and will also grant you access to a number of exclusive classes and social events.
Not to worry! If you a miss a session, we will help you to catch up on what you missed. If possible, please do send let us know in advance if you are unable to make it. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer refunds at this time.
We aim to provide everything you will need, but do advise that children wear suitable, activity-appropriate clothing. We will gift all adults a 'safe' reusable hot drinks mug to bring with you each week and ask you to bring a cup for your child.
We are unable to offer a mixture of classes although you are welcome to sign up for as many classes per week as you wish. However, please note that each class will be charged per 10 week block.
Yes! We understand that you may not want to commit to a class right away, which is why we are happy to offer one taster session per activity. This will, of course, be dependent on space. Each session will cost £5, covering the usual cost of an individual class.
