Boarders Go Mad in Minehead

The King’s Hall boarding house is back in business! Over 50 boarders returned to school last week following their fun-filled Christmas break. And to banish those January blues, they celebrated the new year the best way they knew how – with a trip to the beach.

Making the most of the mild weather, the children spent Sunday morning in Minehead; paddling in the sea, rock climbing, wave dodging and engaging in various sports. There was even time for a picnic, which our Spanish pupils and GAP students thought somewhat crazy – considering the climate!

The coastal town of Minehead proved the perfect place for the children to let off steam ahead of the first official week of term. The sandy beach, seafront promenade, and amusement arcades provided hours of fun, making the trip a huge success.

Commenting on the day, Head of Boarding, Clare Masters, said: “The first week back is always a shock to the system, but it didn’t take us long to get back into the swing of things! A trip to the beach was the perfect way to ease pupils into the new year.”
