All-Rounder Grace Achieves Personal Bests

King’s Hall pupil Grace Fielder is a talented sporting all-rounder who has had a busy start to 2019.

In January, she headed to Cardiff International Arena with Taunton Athletics Club (TAC), where she took part in the Under 15 South West Regional Indoor Athletics Championships.

After securing a personal best in both the 200 and 800 metre race, Grace went on to take part in one of her preferred events, the 60 metre hurdles, where she ran 9.85 – a personal best and enough to secure the silver medal.

This was all the more impressive considering that Grace was a year younger than most of her fellow competitors. She hopes to perform even better next year.

Currently, she is representing King's College in the Somerset County Swimming Championships, whilst also focusing her training on the British Biathlon Championships in London, and the England Athletics Combined Events Championships in Sheffield, both of which take place in March.

At King’s Schools, Grace trains under the guidance of Head of Swimming, Lyndsey Hollands, as well as Steve Shaw who is her coach at TAC. In addition to her athletics and swimming, Grace has also thoroughly enjoyed playing A team hockey and netball.
