Staff Achieve Mental Health Awareness Qualification
As part of their continuing professional development (CPD), eight members of staff at King’s Hall completed a two-month online course in ‘Understanding Children and Young People’s Mental Health’.
The NCFE Cache Level 2 qualification aims to increase the learner’s knowledge and awareness of mental health issues commonly associated with children and young people, and highlights the support available to maintain pupil wellbeing.
We are pleased to announce that everyone passed with flying colours, with happy faces all round as staff received their official certificates last week.
Commenting, Head of Learning Strategies, Antonia Cheeseman, said: “Fitting the course in around our busy schedules was a challenge, but the reward was definitely worth it. We all feel we have a greater understanding of children and young people’s mental health and are now able to apply this in our work.”
She added: "Our main aim as a department is to help pupils gain confidence in their abilities and support them in all aspects of their education. As a result of this course, we feel we are able to provide appropriate intervention and therefore assist the pupils in overcoming any personal difficulties they may be facing."
