Pupils Celebrate Opening of Brand New Gym
As part of our efforts to encourage a healthy lifestyle, we recently installed a gym in our upper Sports Hall. What started as a single exercise bike has since expanded into a fully-working facility, complete with cross trainers, weights, and a section for floor work.
As well as helping pupils to maintain a healthy lifestyle, the gym is designed to aid recovery and promote strength and conditioning. And as an added bonus, the gym will also be open to all staff, enabling them to stay fit and healthy during the working day.
Thanks to the generosity of a King’s Hall parent, and building on the gym’s current success, we are now looking to add even more equipment over the coming months.
Commenting, our Director of Sport, Ali Halls said: “My aim is to have the pupils making regular use of the gym and learning how to use the equipment appropriately and effectively. This will help them to feel comfortable in a similar environment when they move up to King’s College at age 13.”
He added: “So far, I have been using the facility with pupils during PE lessons, at lunchtimes, and as part of our after-school provision. Due to its popularity, I will be adding more sessions and inviting guest trainers to work with the children on a regular basis.”
