Proud Theo Earns His First Blue Peter Badge

Our Year 7s were super excited with this reply from author Elle McNicoll! #welovereading https://t.co/FUx2PzqOHF https://t.co/dFXqC6ItPb - 11 hours ago

Year 3 pupil Theo L received a special gift in the post last week – his coveted Blue Peter badge. The small token, which is awarded to children who have mastered a new skill or achievement, was a much-welcomed surprise.

Theo was given the honour after submitting a hama bead design to the popular children’s TV show. His masterpiece brought to life all of the Blue Peter badges, including the eco-friendly Green badge and the limited edition Sports badge.

As this was his first submission, he was awarded the Blue badge – an emblem given to those who submit anything from letters and crafts to pictures, poems and paintings.

“I was so excited to open the envelope. It’s so cool, I’m very happy!” exclaimed Theo.

Not stopping there, the enthusiastic 8-year-old has already set his sights on a new badge. As a keen drummer, he is now eager to achieve the Music badge. This particular badge is very special as it was designed by pop superstar himself, Ed Sheeran, for BBC Music Day.

We have no doubt that Theo will wow the Blue Peter team with his expert skills, and look forward to receiving further updates in the coming weeks.
