Adventure Playground Phase Two – Not Just for Kids!
This morning we unveiled phase two of our Adventure Playground – a fantastic play area boasting apparatus that includes a lookout tower, swings and traversing ropes.
Thanks to the generosity of the King’s Schools community, we have now been able to add to the mix, a series of climbing routes, a two-man basket swing, and everyone’s favourite, a sprawling cargo net for crawling, climbing and … catching your breath on. This further development has also made room for a quiet space where pupils can relax, read and socialise with their friends.
Father Mark gathered the children for a ceremonial blessing, before the staff and pupils eagerly tested out the new equipment. Officially signed off by the relevant authorities, it is now free for everyone to enjoy. Our staff seemed to enjoy jumping and swinging as much as the children!
Director of Development, Julian Mack said: "We are delighted with the new kit - what an amazing monument to the kindness of our parents. Getting the kids home just got harder!"
He added: "We are now looking to add a more contemplative, relaxing area next to the library to support the great work our Librarian, Mrs Marcuccilli. Alongside play, we know that encouraging regular reading helps to boost academic progress."
We kindly urge staff, parents and visitors to avoid parking around the playground’s parameters to ensure the safety of our children. If you would like further information regarding the next phase of the project, please contact Julian on 01823 328238 or email JJMack@kings-taunton.co.uk.
