Still beaming from their success at this year’s Taunton Drama Festival, pupils from across Prep completed their Vanguard Speech and Drama examinations.

Over a two-day period, they took part in the following examinations: speaking; group speaking; poetry and prose; prose reading; dialogue acting; and solo and group acting. We are now pleased to announce that around 50% of pupils achieved 85% or higher, translating to either a Distinction or Honours mark.

Summarising, Speech and Drama teacher, Alastair Kirby, said: “The children were fantastic, and so professional throughout the whole exam period. I hope you will join me in congratulating them. A huge thank you must also go to the staff and parents for their continued support.”

Meanwhile, our Pre-Prep Speech and Drama pupils have also been undertaking their exams. For some of our slightly younger pupils, this was their first experience of a Speech and Drama exam, and it was a very exciting experience. Examiner, Meryl Duff, was extremely impressed by the pieces the children had to offer, and as a result, the final marks they achieved were outstanding. The average mark awarded was a tremendous 90%. Here are just some of the highlights:
