Taunton Children's Orchestra Music Course

Taunton Children's Orchestra is once again running their popular holiday music course at King's Hall School.

Tuesday 16th - Thursday 18th August 2016

About the Orchestra:

Taunton Children’s Orchestra was founded in 2007 by Alison Pink with the late Vivienne Price MBE, founder of the National Children’ s Orchestra, to offer local youngsters the opportunity for a high quality musical and orchestral experience.

What we get up to on the course:

• full orchestral rehearsals

• proper orchestral repertoire

• sectional coaching

• chamber music in smaller groups

• singing amusing songs

• bonkers warm-up games

• junk percussion workshops

• mini-performances

• fun craft activities

• regular breaks outside

Who can join in?

Any child aged from around 7 years up to 18 years old, playing an orchestral instrument, from approximately Grade 1 level to Grade 8. We carefully tailor the repertoire we work upon to accommodate the whole range of abilities from encouraging the less experienced players, to stretching those who are more advanced.

Cost and other info:

The cost for the course is £100 (£80 for subsequent siblings). Some bursary support may be available for those families with limited incomes. Children will need to bring packed lunches, but snacks and drinks will be provided at break times.
