Daily Routine


During the first half term, the class teacher will spend time getting to know your child through child-led/initiated activities, focusing on the three Prime areas of learning.

8.00 - 8.30am - Early morning club available
8.30am - School starts; the class teacher will meet and greet the children in their class. Please help your child to hang up their belongings and encourage them to move towards doing this independently.
8.40am - Lessons start. All children must be in school by this time.
3.30pm - Pick up time. Supervision is available until 4.15pm everyday, except Wednesday at 4pm, TT club continues the after school care (at an extra charge) from 4.30-6.00pm.

Monday - All children to wear their PE kit to school every Monday: white polo shirt, navy PE shorts and school tracksuit, socks and school shoes (daps to be brought into school at start of term and kept on shelf above each child’s peg and kept in school at all times)
Tuesday to Thursday - School uniform to be worn Friday
Forest School - All children to arrive in school in their Forest School kit, i.e. long sleeved tshirt, jumper/sweatshirt, long trousers, school shoes and warm socks (home clothes)

Items to be kept in school at all times - Wellingtons, daps/trainers, art overall, school fleece, waterproof coat and trousers, warm hat, scarf and gloves for cold weather swimming kit and sun hat (Summer Term). All school uniform to please be named (including shoes, daps and wellingtons) with loops for hanging clothing.

Homework will be sent home every day; please note this will not take place during the first few weeks of term. A timetable of the Reception class day (subject to change) will be displayed alongside a termly curriculum letter and lunch menus on the Reception notice boards.

Reception go on lots of visits outside of school to develop their knowledge and understanding of the world, and to support and extend our topic work. Letters will be sent prior to visits taking place.
