Pelican Swimming Club
The Pelican Swimming Club operates from the King’s College swimming pool. It is administered by parents at King’s Hall and takes place on a Saturday morning, each lesson runs for 30 minutes during term time only. Children can take advantage of having swimming lessons with their friends from school, as well as King’s College’s excellent facilities. The club is open to King’s Hall pupils or family members and is available to children aged 4-10 years old. The aim of Pelican Swimming Club is to deliver sound water skills concentrating on water confidence, body position and good technique in all four strokes. With a passion for the sport the coaches aim to make the sessions structured and enjoyable.
Pelican swimming club is lead by Vicki Goodridge along with Adrian Newstead.
Vicki has been involved with swimming for 35 years and teaching swimming for the last 8 years. An ex international triathlete, and a level 2 ASA instructor, she has a broad range of experience from teaching basic water confidence skills for babies and children right through to high level coaching.
Adrian is a level 1 instructor who continues to train and coach with Wellington Swimming Club.
