Outdoor Adventure Training for Year 1 Forest School
On a beautifully sunny October morning, Year 1 took Forest School to Lytes Cary Court where they had a fantastic day practising their outdoor learning skills.
Large-scale den building was a very popular choice of activity, with the pupils thoroughly impressing their teachers with super teamwork.
The children naturally applied their knowledge about how to transport large pieces of wood and were very creative in how they made their dens comfortable; one den even had a moss carpet!
Physical skills were also demonstrated as the children balanced along logs, climbed trees, jumped across tree stumps and supported each other on the giant swing. They also enjoyed answering the many questions dotted about the woodland area in brightly coloured boxes.
Well done Year 1!
