Nursery at King's Hall School

Our Nursery at King’s Hall School is a friendly, happy and welcoming setting for children aged 2 to 4 years.

Every child will have their very own key worker who will focus on their individual needs and support them through their time here with us at King’s.

Forest School

Whilst following the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, we also develop a child’s love of the outdoors.

Our Forest School is a real plus point for curious and developing minds – children can explore nature just outside their classrooms, stepping into a world of adventure: climbing trees; playing hide and seek; making pizzas; toasting marshmallows; caring for our many animals; collecting eggs … all with lots of mud and fun and giggles.

As well as offering ‘nature’s classroom’, the activities of the day are always designed to capture the imagination of even our tiniest children.

Our Nursery is lucky enough to share a number of facilities with the school and is equipped with its very own Prep-Prep library, with magical toadstool seats, and tended by our wonderful librarian Mrs M.

Outside Adventures

Children can also make full use of the wildlife hide to learn about the many birds and animals that reside close by (who doesn’t love to see squirrels scampering up and down trees just outside the window!?). The extensive grounds are also perfect for nature walks and treasure hunts!

Moving onto Reception – Continuing the King's Hall Journey

Moving onto Reception – Continuing the King's Hall Journey

When the time approaches for your child to move up to Reception, we would be delighted to give you a tour of the facilities so that you can see more of the school and what we have to offer at the next stages of your child's development.

Children looking to make the move would normally do so in the September term following their 4th birthday. At this point you would be invited to a Welcome Afternoon in the Summer Term – here you can learn more about what happens next when your child ‘starts school’, and how we can support you and your child/ren.

It can be a little daunting moving up to new class, with new teachers and a new environment. We therefore like to make this feel as easy as possible and start to introduce children to their new teachers and routine during the Summer Term. This transition is often smooth as the surroundings are already familiar and we are part of one big school family.

Want to know more? Do come and visit us – you’ll be most welcome!

We want children to feel happy and excited about spending their time here with us, and for them to develop, engage and learn about the world around them. All this is achieved through our highly qualified staff making the most of our stunning setting and excellent facilities.
