Year 1 visit to the Quantocks
Walking over moorland, running through the woods, climbing up a dry stream bed and trudging through mud – what better way for the children in Year 1 to explore Lydeard Hill?
As part of our 'Gardeners' World' topic we have been learning about our local environment and comparing the town on one side of our school with the countryside on the other.
We enjoyed a bracing three mile walk, spotted ponies and investigated the different plants and trees that grow on the hill. We even benefited from an early visit from the Easter Bunny when we reached the Triangulation Pillar. Yummy!
