U9 Rugby Festival

On a glorious afternoon at King’s Hall, all the Year 4 boys hosted teams from Sherborne, Taunton, Queen’s and Blundell’s in the first rugby festival of the year.

The boys have worked hard in training and so expectations were high and they didn’t disappoint!

One team, coached by Mr Lewsey (Head of Rugby at King’s College), led the way and played extremely well all afternoon. Barnaby Mack was outstanding and continually made some very intelligent and perceptive decisions. Will Geddes worked hard in defence and made some excellent tackles. All the boys played well, and it was great to see them developing their team work through the afternoon.

On the other pitch, Oliver Taylor and Louie Everett really came to the fore, making some barn-storming runs. Whilst the team work needed some improvement, the endeavour was excellent.

All the boys had a wonderful day and it was terrific to see lots of parents up on the pitches supporting boys from all schools with cheers and encouragement!
