Prep String Day at King's College
18 pupils ranging from Year 2 to Year 8 recently went to King’s College to take part in a day of string playing alongside other pupils from regional Prep Schools. For most of the children, the three pieces that were learned and performed were entirely new and initially quite daunting. After rehearsing in both full and smaller groups though, all went well – even to the point of seemingly being able to make it snow just as we played the March from the Nutcracker! The children thoroughly enjoyed taking part, it was plenty of fun, lots of bouncy rhythms and a sense of real achievement as those tricky pieces were mastered. It was lovely too to see a few familiar faces as a number of former King's Hall pupils now at King's College popped in for part of the afternoon! Many thanks to Mr Albery and Mrs Powell for organising the day, and to Mr Dayus-Jones and Mrs Driscoll for taking and supporting them.
