King's Hall Athletes Sprint to Success at Biathlon Championships
Last month, four King’s Hall pupils travelled to Solihull in the West Midlands after qualifying for the British Modern Biathlon Championships. The competition involved running and swimming various distances according to age group.
Nicolas Du Toit and Katie Rowe took part in the Under 10 category and had to run 800m, followed by a 50m swim. Nicolas finished in a fantastic 15th position, beating over 25 fellow competitors.
Katie placed an equally impressive 22nd out of 55 competitors, having knocked an impressive 2 seconds off her swim time, and a further 7 seconds from her run. Katie also achieved the 8th fastest run time, which was certainly a reflection of her hard work and dedication.
Cameron Wallace took part in the Under 11 category, again having to run 800m and swim 50m. He finished in 16th position and in the process achieved a massive 7 seconds off his qualifying competition run time.
In the Under 13 category, Grace Fielder ran a lengthy 1600m and swam 100m. She placed 18th and gained personal bests in both her swim and run, knocking over 5 seconds off her run time.
