Into the Light
The Senior Choir have had a very busy couple of weeks! Not only did they have the wonderful Carol Service - and party the following day! - but the Saturday before they were performing in St James’ Church with adult choir The Phoenix Singers and also the Richard Huish College Chamber Choir in a concert entitled 'Into the Light'. The evening comprised a number of pieces sung by the individual choirs alone with a couple of ‘massed choir’ pieces to finish off each half of the concert. A large proportion of the Senior Choir was able to take part despite it being a Long Weekend, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Of the six pieces they performed, only one was previously known so this involved a lot of hard work in preparing for this extra event. Not only did they sing very well, but they also clearly relished being able to hear the terrific singing from the adult singers and, sat as they were at the very front of the concert throughout, they comported themselves admirably. Many audience members remarked not only on their excellent singing but also on their exemplary behaviour. Well done! It was also lovely for the children to see Mr D-J in a different context as he was a soloist in two items that evening. The evening's concert was in support of St Margaret's Hospice and the organisers were most grateful for the support of the children and their parents.
