Catch up with our Book Club!
We love the Ottoline books at King’s Hall! Chris Riddell’s latest instalment in the wonderful Ottoline series sees our plucky heroine make friends with a rubbish bin dwelling purple fox who takes her (and her hairy friend Mr Munroe) on a midnight safari around the city where they encounter creatures like blue flamingos, miniature zebras and gorillas that live in rooftop jungles.
Jack and Georgia both loved the disco at the end! Emily loved it when the gorillas appeared from out of the bushes holding bananas. Faith enjoyed the description of Ottoline and Mr Munroe putting on their “tidying-up clothes”. Ella thought the fancy-dress fortune teller hidden at the back of the book was fantastic and Mrs Marcuccilli loved the poems that kept mysteriously appearing on lamp-posts.
We all wrote letters to the author telling him what we liked most about this story and some even suggested some imaginative ideas for future Ottoline adventures. We are all crossing our fingers that Chris Riddell has time to write back to us!
