Arts Week

Have a look at all the Theatre, Drama, Dance, Music, English and Art the children experienced in just one week.

Year 3, 4 and 5 were treated to a West End in Schools Workshop, led by professional dancer and actor, Michelle. They brought the books, ‘Flat Stanley’, ‘The Butterfly Lion’ and ‘Gangsta Granny’ to life. The children focused on dance for their performances and practiced new dramatic techniques. They were then able to ask Michelle questions about her work as a West End performer! Year 4 also performed their play later in the week.

Year 6 and 7 learned to safely stage fight using swords with Squire Stage Combat. Perhaps one day they'll be able to utilise their skills during some of the best stage fights ever written as the next Romeo or Joan of Arc?

Year 8 watched ‘The Railway Children’ in King’s Cross Theatre and attended a Dance and Drama Workshop at the Pineapple Dance Studios in Covent Garden, both in London. It was amazing to see a full size steam train in the theatre!
