NSEA Eventers' Challenge
In March, at Kings Sedgemoor Equestrian Centre, Elsa Clayton, Daisy Rundell and Raffaella Cook represented the school by competing in a team at the NSEA Eventers' Challenge 70cm.
The King’s Hall Sunflowers, as they were called, all rode really well remembering a long and windy course. Elsa, competing for the first time on her sister’s pony, performed a beautiful clear round. Daisy's pony, Ben, proved more of a challenge but she rode him extremely well. Raffaella had a clear round and was lucky enough to win the class as an individual, qualifying her for Hickstead in May.
Also representing King’s Hall at the NSEA Arena Eventing Challenge in the 70cm class at KSEC were Anna Flatt, Jaime Page and Danielle Page. The pressure was on for the girls to all go clear, with only having three members in the team it meant that each score had to count and there was no room for error. With 18 jumps this was a big round with the added complexity of having to complete the course in an optimum time, unlike other competitions where the fastest time wins. The girls had a great result coming 2nd in the competition and have now qualified for Hickstead in May. Danielle also came 3rd individually. Well done, girls.
