King’s Hall children in the Somerset County Youth Orchestra Concert

Just before Christmas, two current King's Hall pupils took part in the Somerset County Youth Orchestra concert with repertoire that included Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 2, a suite of pieces from John William's score for Star Wars and the perennial seasonal favourite - Leroy Anderson's Sleigh Ride.

Louis Benneyworth (Year 8, oboe) and Matthew Osborne (Year 8, trumpet) joined two former King's Hall pupils - Ranulf Mason (viola) and Oliver Mathew (flute) - in this musically impressive event from an orchestra that includes children up to music college/university age. The standard of performance was exceptionally high and our two current pupils can be justifiably proud of their membership given that the orchestra does not usually accept younger players. Well done to all.
