8S Cultural Trip to London
8S followed an action packed itinerary on their recent post-scholarship trip to London. After a shockingly early start, Berry’s coaches trundled us up to London where the fun began. Everyone was stunned by the Planetarium show and fascinating workshop on the solar system. The Robots’ Exhibition at The Science Museum was terrifying and astonishing in equal measure and The Natural History Museum’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition was amazing. It was then back to St Paul’s YHA where we ate a hearty supper and took a night walk along the Southbank; after which we all truly slept like logs!
The following day brought a beautiful walk over the Millennium Bridge to The Globe. Here we all thoroughly enjoyed a tour, exhibition and hilarious costume workshop, where we discovered all the girls’ parts in Shakespeare’s day would have been performed by teenage boys (sorry about the photos Oliver – just had to be done!). Lunch and a look around The Tate Modern preceded a visit to the beautiful V & A museum, sampling the delights of Covent Garden, and finally back to Hammersmith and then home.
