School Triathlon Event

The first ever King’s Hall triathlon took place on a sunny afternoon at the beginning of the Michaelmas Term. Twenty pupils from Year 8 competed in the event.
The first part was a 276 metre swim for the boys and 230 metres for the girls in our own pool. This was followed by the cycling leg around the perimeter of the South Field (3700 metres for the boys and 3000 metres for the girls). The final part of the event was the run over a distance of 1500 metres for the girls and 2000 metres for the boys.

The winner of the boys’ event was Edward Keeling. Helena Winsey was victorious in the girls’ event. Both received a shield from Mr Chippendale.
Congratulations to them and to everyone else who took part.
The whole event, masterminded by our Head of Games Mr Mark Irons, was a resounded success and it is hoped that it will be repeated in 2010.
