James and Sarah Macpherson

James Macpherson retired as Head at the end of the Summer Term, after ten very successful years at King’s Hall School. Tributes were paid to James and Sarah on Prize Day on the final day of term by Roger Knight. A presentation of gifts was then made by Jane Warmington on behalf of the parents, before James gave his farewell address which was followed by a richly deserved standing ovation.

The Summer concert followed the prize giving and at the end of this there was a further surprise for the Macphersons in the form of a performance of Hey Jude on the saxophone by Andy Mackay, accompanied by son Percy and the Assistant Director of Music Alison Foyle.

Before Mr and Mrs Macpherson left at 2:00pm, they received a hoodie from the Year 8 leaving pupils.

We look forward to welcoming Justin Chippendale who takes over as Headmaster in September, along with his wife Claire and their three children.
