National Poetry Day

The theme of this year’s National Poetry Day was Heroes and Heroines, and King’s Hall pupils certainly showed themselves to be heroes and heroines of poetry by writing, performing and displaying poetry in a veritable feast of different ways:

The Pre-Prep enjoyed finding out about poetry and created poems of their own
Year 3 created a Poetree, bursting with fluttering poems in the Rose Garden
Year 4 had fun using coloured chalk to graffiti poetry, the length and breadth of the tennis courts’ walls
Year 5 invented poems about their heroes and heroines, and wore them on T-shirts for the day
Year 6 showed the rest of the school how poetry can be enjoyed in performance
Years 7 & 8 wrote poems of their own.

Poetry is all around us – so look out and you might find a poem about!
