Montessori Nursery

The Nursery is always very busy with both directed and free activities happening alongside Montessori activities. No matter what time of the day you visit, the children are always incredibly engaged in what they are doing, and are obviously thriving and happy in their safe, bright classrooms.

All the children in our nursery benefit from daily activities in our Montessori classroom, under the caring eyes of our fully trained specialist staff. The Montessori Method uses specialised equipment designed specifically for little fingers and provides opportunities that allow the children to develop and learn at their own pace. There are opportunities for challenge both intellectually and in co-ordination and manipulative skills, the forerunners of all future learning. Experiences in the Montessori environment encourage independence, enjoyment and responsibility for learning right from the beginning, as well as enhancing many of the life skills the children will need as they progress through school and beyond. The children develop at their own speed, and not only learn how to learn from their experiences of Montessori activities but also how to enjoy the learning process – the perfect start for the years to come.

Beyond the advantages that the Montessori environment promotes, the children also take part in many art, craft, cutting and gluing activities daily. They cook regularly, use the computer and spend every Monday in the woods taking part in Forest School activities as well as enjoying lots and lots of imaginative play.
