Y3 & Y4 Book Sale

Written by Harry Bishop, Year 3
We held a second-hand book sale to help raise money for the building of the Woodard school in Kenya.
The Year 3 children sorted the books and set up the stalls and then the Year 4 children sold the books. We invited Pre-Prep children to come to our sale and buy our books. It was very exciting because the Pre-Prep children liked our books and we raised lots of money.
At the end of the sale we helped count the money and we raised £82 which made me feel very happy.
In Kenya some people are very poor and they can’t afford school uniforms and school shoes. Some schools are far away from their homes and it gets dark in the evening when the children are walking home and that’s when snakes come out! Some schools are nearby but they are held under a tree with nothing to write on. The Kenyan children are so grateful for our help and that it why it is very important to raise money for schools in Kenya.
