The King’s Schools Taunton equestrian team was in top form last weekend, defeating all opposition in the inter-schools One Day Event held at Aldon Park. Superb riding was combined with an excellent team spirit, with all of the King’s riders contributing to the success.
The superb efforts of riders from King’s Hall School and King’s College delivered a satisfying victory in class one at Aldon Park last weekend. The Bruton School for Girls One Day Event was held at the British Eventing site, where a testing cross country course sorted the wheat from the chaff. The King’s team of Tarn McIntoch, Lydia Gray, Tom Knott and India Knott demonstrated true grit throughout the three phases, aiming to get the best from their ponies at all times. Tarn and Tom both rode double clear, finishing on their dressage scores. Riding as in individual for King’s, India Knott finished 4th in her section, whilst brother Tom finished 3rd in his.
Team manager Julie Gresswell said: “The King’s equestrian team has gone from strength to strength in the past year, with a remarkable depth of talent throughout all year groups. Today the team demonstrated their maturity and team spirit, encouraging each other and working together to iron out any problems. They all rode superbly, and deserve the victory.”
