In June this year, the Director of Music, Michael McDermott, received a request from a former pupil of King’s Hall, Amy Bond, to provide a choir to sing at her forthcoming wedding.  Amy had mentioned to her aunt Libby (who teaches at the school) that her happiest school years were those spent at King’s Hall and the provision of a choir would put the finishing touch to her special day.

Needless to say, the request was fulfilled and on Saturday, 17th September, the newly formed “Chamber Choir” (just five choristers), conducted by Michael, went along to Long Sutton Church and performed a beautiful rendition of John Rutter’s: For The Beauty of The Earth, which had been specially requested by Amy.

Amy married a serving Grenadier Guards Officer and the whole event was made even more momentous by the presence of several uniformed guardsmen who provided a Guard of Honour.

This was the first time that the choir had been asked to perform outside of King’s Hall and it provided a wonderful opportunity for them to show off their newly acquired choir robes -  they certainly did themselves and their school proud on that very special day!
