2012 Lent concert MAIN

An audience of over two hundred people were treated to a fantastic concert performed by the pupils in our Arts Centre.  A thirty piece Orchestra, the Chapel Choir, the Pyrland (Junior) Choir, the String Group, the Rock Group, the Speech & Drama department and at least a dozen individual performers all played their part in what proved to be a superb array of musical and dramatic talent.  Shakespeare, Delibes, Bizet, The Beatles and Oasis were just some of the composers and writers whose works were featured, providing an eclectic mix of great entertainment.

The event was different to concerts in the past in that it started later than usual and ran for two hours which included an interval and, for the first time, the concert was “hosted” by a Year 6 pupil who acted as narrator for the entire evening which proved to be a great success.

In total, no less than one hundred and two pupils took part in the concert which reached a glorious climax when the entire ensemble performed “Hey Jude”, resulting in the whole audience spontaneously rising to their feet and joining in the chorus.

This was a most memorable evening which was enjoyed by a very appreciative audience and all those who took part.
