We are delighted to announce that Mizzi Farthing (Year 5) has been selected to become a member of The National Children’s Orchestra of Great Britain after successfully completing a rigorous audition process.  In fact, she impressed the audition panel so much with her flute playing that she was also offered a one-year scholarship known as The National Children’s Orchestra – Leverhulme Trust Scholarship, awarded only to the four “outstanding” members of The Orchestra. Recipients of the award are entitled to call themselves NCO-Leverhulme Trust Scholars and to quote that description in their CVs. The scholarship also entitles Mizzi to an extra, intensive one-to-one coaching session with a specialist tutor.

Mizzi will be playing in the Under 11 orchestra which will involve rehearsing with the regional orchestra once a month and a seven-day intensive course with the full orchestra in June 2012.

Our congratulations go to Mizzie for becoming part of this prestigious musical organisation at such an early stage in her musical career. Well done!
