The junior boarders were invited to attend the opening of the ice-rink at Hestercombe House and Gardens. It was a special occasion with Father Christmas skating cordially on the ice alongside the children.  His cheerfully dressed elves offered a helping hand and for those who were still a little unsure on the ice, there were dumpy penguin stabilisers! Under a shower of snow and flashing camera lights, the ribbon was cut and the rink was declared ‘open’.

This evening the same group of children have been invited back to Hestercombe to take part of the live screening of ITV regional weather forecast. So keep your eyes peeled for our King’s Hall representatives on ice.

Not wishing for the senior boarders to miss out on all this fun, Mr Purkiss has kindly booked ALL the boarders in for a skating session on Sunday morning, on what is already a busy day ..... but one can always make room for a little extra treat at Christmas!
