King's Hall Welcomes Alistair Halls as Director of Sport
We are delighted to announce that Alistair Halls has been appointed as Director of Sport at King’s Hall School from September 2018. He was selected from a very strong field of candidates and impressed all of those involved in the rigorous interview process leading to not only a unanimous decision but also a great deal of enthusiasm for his arrival.
Alistair is currently Director of Sport at Marlborough College Malaysia Prep where he manages all sports within the Prep department but also liaises across the whole school sporting provision. It is his initiative, energy and effectiveness that led to the creation of highly regarded sporting festivals in the region with up to 850 children gathering across many age ranges to share in the joys of sporting competition and camaraderie. Prior to moving to Malaysia Alistair spent four years at Wallingford Secondary School in Oxford where he was PE Teacher, Head of Year and games coach.
In 2009, Alistair graduated from Oxford Brookes University with an honours degree in Sports & Coaching Studies and then in 2010 he left Exeter University with a First Class Distinction in Physical Education and was awarded a prestigious Ted Wragg Prize for outstanding PGCE students. Typically recipients not only prove they will make outstanding teachers, but also demonstrate during their training that they have helped others to become the same.
Alastair’s enthusiasm for all pupils to enjoy sport and have the opportunity to be their best, thus achieving their full potential, is most apparent and he is looking forward to building on the tremendous sporting opportunities and attitudes that already exist at King’s Hall.
Alistair, together with his wife and young son, is as excited about returning to the UK over the Summer and joining King’s Hall School as we are!
