King's Hall pupils have fun designing their own monsters | King's Hall School Taunton

As many of you will know, John Lewis’s eagerly-anticipated festive advert made its debut early last month, which featured the lovable monster, Moz, who lives under the bed. What you may not know is that the story of Moz bears an uncanny resemblance to that of Mr Underbed, a picture book written in 1986 by Chris Riddell, one of King’s Hall’s very favourite authors and illustrators! (You can read more about the controversy, dubbed the “Battle of the Monsters”, here.) In response to the John Lewis campaign, Chris Riddell launched a festive competition to “Design your own monster – not someone else’s!” King’s Hall pupils, or course, rose to the challenge and had enormous fun designing monsters of their own. Some were scary, some were friendly, but all were highly original! Below are some of the wonderful entries that Mrs Marcuccilli submitted on behalf of pupils. We have our fingers firmly crossed as we await news of the competition winners. Good luck to all!
