King's Hall Hockey Players Secure Place at IAPS Finals
The under 11 girls’ hockey team continued their run of success when they won the Independent Association of Preparatory Schools (IAPS) qualifier held at Rugby School recently.
The KHS under 11 girls’ team will now go forward to the IAPS National Finals that are due to take place next month.
King’s Hall also hosted an under 9 rugby tournament that involved two teams each from Sherborne School, Blundell’s School, St Peter’s Prep, Taunton School, as well as the hosts.
Alistair Halls, Director of Sport, said: “It was a really fantastic afternoon with very like-minded schools all wanting the young boys to enjoy playing rugby and being as part of a team. Scores were not recorded but the energy levels were at their highest.”
Over half term a party of 21 boys and girls in the King’s Hall under 13s hockey squads will be setting off for a five-day tour to Holland.
During their stay in Amsterdam the King’s teams will play three matches against local teams. They will also receive input from some of the top coaches, and will obviously find time for a spot of sight-seeing!
Alistair added: “Hockey is very popular at King’s and everyone who goes on this tour will gain so much from it. To have the chance to travel to Holland, where they play a very high standard of hockey is a great opportunity for our pupils. “
