Instrumental Lessons

Individual instrumental lessons are taught by a dedicated team of 14 visiting music teachers recruited for the knowledge of their instrument and experience of both teaching and performing.

Tuition in all standard instruments is available and others can be provided if requested. We currently have pupils learning the following instruments:

Bassoon

‘Cello

Clarinet

Classical Guitar

Drums

Flute

French Horn

Organ (at King’s College)

Piano

Rock Guitar

Trumpet

Viola

Violin

Voice

Pupils are given one 30 minute lesson each week on a “one-to-one” basis.

If desired, pupils can be entered for Associated Board, Trinity Guildhall or RockSchool Examinations although examinations are by no means obligatory - playing for fun is regarded as equally important as preparing for examinations.

We regularly have many pupils entering and performing well in music festivals and competitions, and the 2013 Taunton and Somerset Music Festival saw great success for King’s Hall pupils.
