Ian qualified with Goodman Bull and Co, Chartered Accountants, in 1967. He became a partner in 1972 prior to the practice merging with Robson Rhodes in 1979 and continued in this role until 1987, when he and a number of colleagues de-merged to create Apsleys. He remained with Apsleys until his retirement in 2006. During his career, Ian worked in a variety of general practice roles for a wide range of small businesses, partnerships and limited companies.
Ian was Finance Adviser to the schools of the Woodard Western Division, and Western Division Bursar from 1998 to 2005. He has been involved in a number of voluntary roles including a Governor at St Margaret’s School, Exeter, a Trustee and Director of The Brewhouse Theatre, Taunton and Treasurer of Exeter Southernhay Rotary Club.
