Educated at Queens’ College, Cambridge, Peter studied Modern History and a Diploma in Education. He has taught at Drumley House School, Ayrshire, The King's School, Canterbury, Radley College in Oxford and was then appointed as Headmaster of Monkton Combe Junior School in 1984.
As well as his direct teaching experience, Peter has a wealth of other educational experience, including being a Vice Chairman of the Independent Association of Preparatory Schools, a member of ISIS South and West Council, a member of the Independent Schools Examination Board and a Governor of one senior and three preparatory schools between 1979 and 2003.
He is currently a licensed Lay Reader at St. Luke's Church, Bath, and has been a member of the Church of England General Synod for Oxford dioceses, a member of the Board of Education of the Archbishops’ Council and is still a member of Bath and Wells Diocesan Synod and Board of Education.
